Defending winners In the opening game of the fourth season of the WPL, the Mumbai Indians will play Royal Champions Bengaluru, the 2024 champions, at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

The 22 matches in the tournament will be held at two locations: the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara and Navi Mumbai.

In an attempt to avoid a conflict with the men's T20 World Cup, which starts that same week in India and Sri Lanka, the WPL final will take place on a weekday for the first time in the tournament. The title match is set for Thursday, February 5.

On Saturday, February 7, Pakistan will play the Netherlands in Colombo to kick off the T20 World Cup.

According to the schedule released on Saturday, Navi Mumbai will host 11 games, including afternoon doubleheaders on January 10 and 17.

After that, the league will relocate to Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, where the final 11 games—including the eliminator on February 2 and the championship game on February 5—will take place.

WPL will be played for the first time during the January–February window.

Additionally, this will be the first time the WPL has been held in a January–February window; the previous three editions were held in February–March, right before and frequently in conflict with international obligations.

The five teams—the Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, UP Warriorz, Gujarat Giants, and Delhi Capitals—play each other twice in a double round-robin league under the same format. The teams in second and third place will compete in the Eliminator for the remaining spot, while the top-ranked team will go straight to the final.

In three seasons, the Mumbai Indians have won two titles, with RCB taking home the trophy in 2024. Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz have not yet made a final appearance, while Delhi Capitals have placed second in each of the first three editions.

The Indian women's team will embark on an all-format tour of Australia ten days after the WPL ends. The tour will include three Twenty20 Internationals, three One-Day Internationals, and a Test from February 15 to March 9.
