Yastika Bhatia's injury keeps her out of the WPL 2026, and the Gujarat Giants release a touching video ahead of the new campaign.
New DelhiYastika Bhatia, a 25-year-old wicket keeper batter, has been ruled out of the upcoming tournament, which is a huge setback for Gujarat Giants, a WPL (Women's Premier League) team. It's important to remember that Gujarat Giants signed Bhatia for Rs 50 lakh.
Interestingly, Bhatia was already hurt when the Gujarat Giants purchased her at auction. Due to a knee injury, Bhatia was unable to participate in the recent ODI World Cup and the Australia series; Uma Chetry took her place in the India squad.
Bhaita will miss the season for the team because she did not heal in time. Additionally, because she was one of the players hurt before the auction, the Gujarat Giants will not be permitted a replacement in accordance with the BCCI's previous directive.
In a similar vein, their respective teams won't be able to sign replacements if (RCB) and Pratika Rawal (UPW) don't recover in time. Following the news of her absence, the Gujarat Giants posted an emotional video on social media in which a number of team members wished her a quick recovery and expressed their desire to play with her in future seasons.

They lost the eliminator and were eliminated by Mumbai Indians women in 2025, which put an end to their campaign. As they prepare for the competition's fourth edition, they will aim for notable progress.
