The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has not yet issued censorship certificates for Sivakarthikeyan's Parasakthi and Thalapathy Vijay's Jana Nayagan. Fans, theaters, and distributors are waiting for clarification before the holiday weekend due to the delay.
The release date of Jana Nayagan is set for January 9. Parasakthi was originally scheduled to arrive on January 14, but it has been rescheduled for January 10, a day later. Both movies are still awaiting clearance, and Pongal has very little time left. The Madras High Court has been petitioned by the producers of Jana Nayagan regarding the delay. The court has reserved its order in this case as of the most recent update.
